DESCRIPTION
A four-day workshop, from September 17th to 20th, held in the heart of the Abruzzo, Lazio, and Molise National Park, to discover the wildest and most pristine nature of the central Apennines. During this time, ideal for the deer's bellowing, you will also have the opportunity to spot other magnificent animals in the park, such as wolves and foxes. This photography workshop focuses on the places where you are most likely to spot deer during their prime mating season. You will be guided by professional photographer Alessandro Di Modica, and I will share my experience and expertise in the world of wildlife with you.

WHO IS THIS EVENT ADDRESSED TO?
This workshop is aimed at all photography and nature enthusiasts. It's designed for both beginners in this wonderful world who want to learn some helpful field and post-production tips to improve their skills, and for more advanced photographers who want to spend four days in places rich in photographic possibilities and bring home some stunning shots. This type of event requires good physical fitness, as we'll be covering significant elevation changes, so the routes are not suitable for everyone.
DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT
I will share my photographic expertise to offer an intense, useful experience, with the utmost respect for nature. We will leverage my local knowledge to deliver the highest level of photographic quality, studying every lighting situation and shooting angle. My workshops will cover the basics of wildlife photography, discussing the local area and how to make the most of every hour of light. You will be guided from camera settings to the actual shooting phase. We will then compare our shots and discuss post-production, where I will reveal some secrets for optimizing our photographs, with a particular focus on file customization, detail optimization, light and contrast management, and color correction. The goal of these events is to train you through my experience, leaving you with the knowledge to pursue this passion anywhere and with excellent photographic results. The workshop will begin with an initial theoretical explanation at the Abruzzo National Park headquarters. This will prepare and introduce participants to nature photography, explaining the rules of conduct within the park. This will be followed by a lesson on compositional rules, photographic techniques, tips, and everything else needed to create quality photographs.
During these days, we'll alternate between sunrise and sunset hides and high-altitude hikes. Therefore, this type of activity requires maximum physical fitness, as you'll be climbing over 900 meters. We'll also focus our hides on areas where there's a good chance of seeing wolves, and with a bit of luck, even photographing them. With the support of a professional photographer, you'll have the opportunity to hone your photography skills, discovering the best techniques for capturing the majesty of deer in their natural habitat. Every click of the camera will be a dive into the wild, an indelible memory of an intense experience. During the workshop, you'll not only learn to take extraordinary photographs, but also to observe and understand animal behavior, thus enriching your connection with nature.
By participating in this nature photography workshop, you will discover with me how to behave in the field to obtain impactful and natural photographs.
These days will be dedicated to spotting red deer, where at this time of year their roaring echoes through the park's valleys, creating a surreal atmosphere. During the central hours of the day, we'll focus on post-production, thus improving our skills with specific software.
The photographic sessions will be carried out early in the morning and at sunset, alternating stakeouts on site and explorations along the most important places in the Park, so as to immerse ourselves in a unique experience, in close contact with nature. The sessions will keep us busy in the field from dawn to dusk, with moments of practical sessions on the various basic and advanced video shooting techniques to obtain creative and unique images of the roar.
RECOMMENDED PHOTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT
For this type of workshop, we recommend focal lengths from 200mm effective to a maximum of 800mm. Other shorter focal lengths could also be interesting, so as to obtain different photographic ideas. For this event you can rent products such as cameras and lenses.
