DESCRIPTION

We will spend 6 days searching for the Iberian lynx and the golden eagle but not only, in addition to a truly suggestive and purely mountainous landscape. We will move from the North to the South of Spain, in search of these fantastic specimens, and we will also have the opportunity to immortalize other birds of prey present in the area, including the black kite and the red kite, the goshawk, griffon vultures, the common vulture, the buzzard and occasionally even the fox.

In the evening, once the photo session is over, we will be able to relax in front of excellent local dishes, in the restaurant where we will be staying, and we will have the opportunity to discuss the shots taken during the day.

A photography workshop concentrated in the places where there is a greater possibility of spotting the Iberian lynx and the golden eagle. Specifically, you will be guided by the professional photographer Alessandro Di Modica and a local guide, where I will share with you my experience and expertise in the world of Wildlife.

WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR?

This workshop is aimed at all photography and nature enthusiasts. Dedicated both to those who are taking their first steps in this wonderful world and want to receive some useful advice in the field and in post-production to improve their knowledge, and to more advanced photographers, who want to spend four days in places full of photographic possibilities, bringing home excellent shots. No particular skills are required.

EVENT DESCRIPTION

This photography workshop takes place in the wonderful setting of Spain, where we will spend 6 days in a hut in close contact with nature, and where we will be able to admire and photograph a large quantity of wild animals that populate these mountain ranges, remaining fascinated by the extraordinary beauty of the landscape, suggestive places where you can spot the fauna and avifauna present in Spain. I will make my knowledge in the field of photography available to offer an intense, useful experience with the utmost respect for nature. We will exploit the knowledge of the territory to provide the highest level from a photographic point of view, studying every light situation and every shooting point.

We will begin our photographic journey from the North, where thanks to the help of a local guide we will spend the first three days in a hut and will have the opportunity to focus on the birds of prey present in the area, but in particular we will have the opportunity to spot the golden eagle in all its beauty.

We will then move to the south of Spain, to the northernmost slopes of the Sierra de Andujar Natural Park. These places are home to one of the highest densities of Iberian Lynx in the Iberian Peninsula, and here, again with the help of the hides, we will go to photograph the Iberian Lynx. The period is absolutely one of the best, as the mating season is approaching, and therefore the animals are easily visible. We will capture this fantastic feline in breathtaking settings, and we will have three days to photograph it in all its beauty.

It will be incredible to be able to approach, in their natural environment, the many animals that populate the park, and take environmental shots or fantastic portraits. During my workshops, the basics of Wildlife photography will be covered, we will talk about the territory to take advantage of every hour of light. You will be followed from the settings in the camera up to the shooting phase. We will then have the opportunity to compare our shots and talk about post-production where I will reveal some secrets to optimize our photographs with particular attention to file customization, detail optimization, management of light and contrasts and color corrections.

The purpose of these events is to train you through my experience, leaving you with a wealth of knowledge sufficient to cultivate this passion anywhere and with excellent photographic results. The workshop will begin with an initial theoretical explanation, to prepare and introduce participants to the approach to nature photography, explaining compositional rules, photographic techniques, advice and everything needed to create quality photographs.

With the support of a professional photographer, you will have the opportunity to refine your photography skills, discovering the best techniques to capture impactful images. Every click of the camera will be a dive into the wild world, an indelible memory of an intensely lived experience. During the workshop, you will not only learn to take extraordinary photos, but also to observe and understand animal behavior, thus enriching your connection with nature.

This photography workshop is designed for those who want to capture the magic of wildlife, in one of the most evocative natural environments in Europe. By participating in this nature photography workshop, you will discover with me how to behave in the field to obtain impactful and natural photographs.

The photo sessions will be held in the hut, from early morning until sunset, with a short lunch break, so as to immerse ourselves in a unique experience, in close contact with nature. The sessions will keep us busy in the field from morning to sunset.

RECOMMENDED PHOTO EQUIPMENT

For this type of workshop, we recommend focal lengths from 200mm effective to a maximum of 600mm. Other shorter focal lengths could also be interesting, so as to obtain different photographic ideas. For this event you can rent products such as cameras and lenses.

The products are rented without any deposit, and without any credit card or particular constraint. Each product is delivered on the spot and no insurance is required..

This service is made available to allow everyone to participate in a workshop like this, putting each photographer in a position to shoot in optimal conditions.

PROGRAM DETAILS

Day 1

Departure from Italy and meeting at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport by 11.30 AM, and subsequent transfer of about 1.30 hours to the first structure, near the huts. Once lunch has been had and the luggage has been arranged, a short theoretical lesson will be held on the photographic tour that we will undertake in the following days.

Days 2-3-4

• 06.30 AM: Breakfast at the Hotel.
• 07.30 AM: Move to the huts and start of the photo session in search of birds of prey present in the area.
• 12.30 AM: Quick lunch near a restaurant in the area, and then resume photographic activities until sunset.
• Dinner in a structure based on typical local products.
• On the last day of the photo session, once finished, departure to the second structure that will welcome us for the next three days, and will be about 3 hours away.

Days 5-6-7

• 06:00 AM: Breakfast at a facility near our accommodation.

• 07.00 AM: Move to the huts and start of the photographic session in search of Iberian lynx.

• 13.00 AM: Packed lunch and then resume photographic activities until sunset.

• Dinner at a restaurant near the facility.

  Day 8

• 07:30 AM: Breakfast and subsequent departure for Madrid airport and return to Italy.
