EVENT DESCRIPTION

This photography workshop takes place in the stunning setting of Spain, where we will spend five days in a cabin in close contact with nature. We will admire and photograph the Iberian lynx, one of the world's most elusive animals, which inhabits mountain ranges and arid plains. We will be fascinated by the extraordinary beauty of the landscape, offering evocative locations where we can spot the local fauna and birdlife. I will share my photographic expertise to offer an intense, useful experience, with the utmost respect for nature. We will leverage our knowledge of the area to provide the highest level of photographic quality, carefully studying every lighting situation and shooting angle.

Our photographic journey will focus on the south of Madrid, where, with the help of a local guide, we will spend 5 days in a hide, from morning until sunset. We will have the opportunity to focus on the lynx present in the area, but not only that, we will also have the opportunity to photograph passerines present in the area.

It will be incredible to get up close to their natural habitat, admire this fantastic species and other animals that inhabit the area, and have the opportunity to capture them playing in the scorching sun, or take stunning portraits of them drinking from the pool in front of us.

During my workshops, we will cover the basics of wildlife photography, discussing the area and how to make the most of every hour of light. You will be guided from camera settings to the shooting stage. We will then compare our shots and discuss post-production, where I will reveal some secrets for optimizing our photographs, with a particular focus on file customization, detail optimization, light and contrast management, and color correction.

The purpose of these events is to train you through my experience, leaving you with enough knowledge to cultivate this passion anywhere and with excellent photographic results. The workshop will begin with an initial theoretical explanation, to prepare and introduce participants to the approach to nature photography, explaining compositional rules, photographic techniques, tips and everything needed to create quality photographs.

  • Alex Gähler

The "Wild Spain" photography tour was my first ever. I was determined to see and photograph the rare and incredibly beautiful Iberian lynx.

This wish was more than fulfilled in the first few days! Several cute songbirds entertained me while waiting in the shed. The accommodation was quite basic, but only a short walk from the cabin.

At the second location, the hotel was much nicer, but we had to drive a few minutes to the small cabins to photograph several birds of prey up close. Kites, golden eagles and even vultures performed their aerial acrobatics right in front of the camera!

The promise of being able to photograph all these animals was 100% kept! I particularly appreciated the sense of humor of the participants, their concentration on their common hobby and the discipline demonstrated in the sheds. Communicating with a group that spoke almost exclusively Italian was not always easy. However, with a mix of different languages, we did quite well.

This certainly won't be my last photography tour, and I'm already looking for other destinations. I noticed that the Wild Spain tour is a rather economical option, with excellent value for money.

  • Andrea Basciano

I had the opportunity to participate in a workshop in Spain and the Sibillini mountains with Alessandro, professionalism, competence and fantastic places where I was able to immerse myself in real wildlife, I will definitely participate in other workshops 😎

  • Federica Senis

Alessandro is an extraordinary professional. I participated in two of his workshops, Wild Spain and Wild Abruzzo, both organized with great care and competence. His passion for photography emerges in every explanation and in every moment shared. In addition to technical expertise, he has a rare sensitivity in capturing emotions and details, combined with great attention and professionalism. He explains and guides with precision and passion, making the experience truly educational. A natural, authentic and always stimulating approach. I recommend Alessandro to those looking for quality, care and authenticity.

Excellent one-week observation course of lynxes and birds of prey in Spain. The animals were observed in excellent condition and the group atmosphere was very positive.
