An immersive journey into the heart of Poland to discover some of Europe's most fascinating and iconic wildlife. Over the course of a week, we will immerse ourselves in wild, pristine landscapes, alternating between long photography sessions in hides, seeking out large birds of prey, and days spent in the legendary Białowieża Forest, one of Europe's last great primeval forest ecosystems.

This photography tour focuses on locations offering the best chances to spot large birds of prey, predators, and European bison. You will be guided by professional photographer Alessandro Di Modica and a local guide, and I will share my experience and expertise in the world of wildlife photography with you.

WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR?

This workshop is designed for all photography and nature enthusiasts. It caters to everyone, from those taking their first steps into this wonderful world and looking for practical tips both in the field and during post-production, to enhance their skills, to more advanced photographers wishing to spend days in locations rich with photographic potential and capture outstanding images. No specific prior experience is required.

EVENT DESCRIPTION

From dawn till dusk, we will be immersed in photography hides, ready to make the most of every moment of the day and the best lighting conditions. The undisputed star will be the white-tailed eagle, one of Europe's largest birds of prey, which we will have the chance to photograph as it hunts, flies, or perches amidst the winter landscape.

However, it won't be the only star of the show, during our sessions, we may also photograph other species, including ravens, buzzards, and other raptors that frequent the area. And then there is the most unpredictable and fascinating element of wildlife photography, with a stroke of luck, we might even witness the appearance of a wolf, an encounter that is as rare as it is thrilling.

We will spend many hours in the field, immersed in the silence of nature, waiting for the right moment, because the most beautiful and unforgettable scenes often unfold precisely while we wait.

I will share my photographic expertise to provide an immersive, rewarding experience that fully respects nature. We will leverage local knowledge to achieve the best possible photographic results, carefully analyzing lighting conditions and shooting angles.

For the first three days, our photography tour will focus on the area west of Warsaw; with the help of a local guide, we will spend three days in a hide, from morning until sunset, giving us the opportunity to focus on the region's birds of prey.

For the remaining three days, we will head to the extraordinary Białowieża Forest, one of Europe’s oldest and wildest forest areas. Here, we will completely shift our approach, moving through the forest in search of its most iconic inhabitants.

Our primary goal will be to encounter and photograph the European bison, a symbol of the region and one of the most imposing animals in European wildlife. We will also look for signs of wolves and hope for possible sightings, traversing the forest with a local guide and learning to interpret the traces left by wildlife. During our explorations, we may also be lucky enough to encounter elk, red deer, and lynx, wild species that call this extraordinary ecosystem home.

It will be an incredible experience to get close to the wildlife in their natural habitat, admire the many animals inhabiting the areas we visit, and capture stunning environmental shots or fantastic portraits. During my workshops, we will cover the fundamentals of wildlife photography and discuss the terrain to make the most of every hour of light. You will receive guidance on everything from camera settings to the actual shooting process. We will also have the opportunity to review our images and discuss post-processing, where I will reveal secrets for optimizing our photos, focusing specifically on file customization, detail enhancement, light and contrast management, and color correction.

The aim of these events is to train you by drawing on my experience, equipping you with the knowledge needed to pursue this passion anywhere and achieve excellent photographic results. The workshop will begin with a theoretical overview designed to introduce participants to the approach used in nature photography, covering compositional rules, photographic techniques, practical tips, and everything else required to create high-quality images.

With the guidance of a professional photographer, you will have the opportunity to hone your photography skills and discover the best techniques for capturing striking images. Every click of the shutter will be a foray into the wild, an indelible memory of an intensely lived experience. During the workshop, you will not only learn to take extraordinary photos but also how to observe and understand animal behavior, thereby deepening your connection with nature.

Get ready for a unique experience in the heart of Poland! This photography workshop is designed for those who want to capture the magic of wildlife in one of Europe’s most stunning natural settings. By joining this wildlife photography tour, you will learn, alongside me, how to conduct yourself in the field to capture striking, natural-looking images.

This workshop will not simply be a trip in search of animals to photograph; it will be an immersive experience in the wild, a journey of freezing sunrises, long waits in hides, the silence of the forest, tracking, and unexpected encounters.

We will have the opportunity to dedicate entire days to photography, studying the light, animal behavior, and the best conditions to capture authentic, atmospheric images. There are no guarantees in wildlife photography: the animals are completely free, and every encounter depends on natural conditions and, inevitably, a stroke of luck!
