The lodge is run by the Stevens Family, who have always been involved in conservation and wildlife conservation. It is a wonderful destination for guests seeking authenticity and an unforgettable experience in search of the "Big 5" (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino).

The reserve is also committed to protecting and conserving some of Africa's most endangered species (Temminck's pangolin, wild dog, black rhino and cheetah).

The Manyoni Private Game Reserve, at 23,000 hectares, is one of the largest private reserves in Kwazulu-Natal.

THE LODGE

The lodge is designed as an open plan, two storey, thatched welcome area with lounge, bar and dining facilities, all leading to the pool and a wooden veranda overlooking the rolling landscape of the Manyoni Game Reserve. The thatched roof depicts a bird of prey in flight and features a regal architectural element that aims to blend the feeling of the lodge’s positioning as a “bird’s eye view” of the game reserve. Depending on the weather, meals are served in the dining room or al fresco on the terrace under the big African sky.

The beautiful upstairs bar with stunning views of the rolling hills is open for self-service, allowing you to unwind and enjoy your African safari escape. On warm days we are sure you will spend them by the pool and on cooler nights you can curl up by the upstairs fireplace, and when the magic of an African sunset descends on the day, you can watch it from the large terrace while enjoying your favourite wine.

THE TENTS

Each luxury tent is tastefully and modernly furnished to showcase the best of safari luxury. Each room is equipped with air conditioning, pedestal fans and luxurious Afri-Earth amenities complemented by crisp white linens on twin or king size beds. There is an en-suite bathroom and shower, as well as an intimate outdoor shower overlooking the reserve, allowing for complete privacy to soak up the natural surroundings. Relax on the large private deck taking in the stunning views with comfortable lounge chairs and a birdbath in front of each tent, which bird watchers can enjoy observing directly from the veranda.

WILDLIFE

The reserve is a paradise of open grassy plains and rolling hills that create the perfect backdrop for photographing any animal species. From the Big 5 to the most colorful and vibrant bird species. Kwazulu-Natal is an area renowned for its great biodiversity.

ACTIVITIES

On the day of our arrival we will be welcomed by our driver at Durban airport. After about 3 hours of driving, we will arrive at the gate of the Manyoni reserve and after half an hour of driving among the Big Five, we will arrive at the lodge, where the staff will be there waiting for us with a welcome drink. Depending on the time, we will be accompanied to the room or lunch will be served At 16:00 there will be the first afternoon Safari, which will last about 3 hours. Around 19:00 we will return to the lodge and dinner will be served.

From day 2

From day 2 our days will be marked by these activities:

• 6:00 am Morning Safari. Our ranger will give us a call (Wake up call) half an hour before departure, to make sure we are awake.
• Morning safari until around 9:00 with a break for a coffee in the savannah -From 9:00 to 13:30 we will be free, to rest, spend time on the lodge terrace or in the pool waiting for lunch.
• 13:30/14:00 lunch.
• 16:00 Afternoon safari which will last 3 hours, and here too there will be a break for an aperitif at sunset in the savannah.
• 19:30/20:00 Dinner.

The deposit must be paid WITHIN 7 DAYS OF CONFIRMATION. The balance must be paid WITHIN 90 DAYS OF THE TRIP START DATE.

WHO IS THIS WORKSHOP FOR?

The Photography Workshop is aimed at all lovers of Wildlife photography and uncontaminated nature! We will alternate shooting sessions at dawn and dusk, taking advantage of the best light conditions to obtain original and high-impact photos.

During the workshop we will undertake a stimulating and complete training course, starting from the basics up to the most advanced techniques, from shooting theory to post-production.

We will see how to apply the techniques in the field, we will evaluate the shots obtained together and finally we will see various workflows in post-production based on the type of shot obtained.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

First of all, you will live an adventure that will remain in your heart, in direct contact with nature, between fun and photography!

My goal is not only to pass on my technical knowledge to you, but to make you live a rewarding and stimulating experience through a training course that is able to make you see photography with new eyes and different approaches.

During this workshop we will cover many topics and techniques that will help you improve your skills, regardless of the equipment you have and your level of preparation.

RECOMMENDED PHOTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT

This itinerary offers a magnificent experience without any barriers with the animals, for this reason it is recommended to have a 300 mm lens or more, since we will have the possibility of getting very close to the various animals present in the reserve, at a distance of 15-20 meters.
